It was the perfect chance to escape the frenzy of Phuket and embark on a much-needed weekend getaway.
Getting to Khao Lak was a breeze, just a short 2-hour drive from Rawai or an hour from Phuket International Airport. As I made my way to Devasom Khao Lak Beach resort & Spa, the anticipation grew with every mile. The smooth and empty road leading away from Phuket added a sense of freedom to the journey. Of course, no road trip adventure is complete without a caffeine boost, so I made a delightful stop at my favorite coffee shop, Asterix Phangna, to kick-start the day.

As we were stepping into the lobby, we were greeted with genuine hospitality at the front desk, setting the tone for our extraordinary stay. The atmosphere was imbued with excitement and anticipation, knowing that a series of delightful experiences awaited us.
As we waited for our room to be ready, we whisked away toward the venue of our first workshop. As I stepped into the exquisitely arranged library room, all my senses were awake and immediately captivated. The delicate scent of essential oils filled the air, inviting me to explore their healing properties. Under the expert guidance of Giftzense, the workshop facilitator, I discovered the art of blending oils and creating my own personalized scent. It was a sensory journey that left me feeling grounded and connected to the power of nature.

After the workshop, it was time to unwind and prepare for the upcoming cacao ceremony. The stunning junior suite with its jacuzzi, lagoon view, and breathtaking sea view provided the perfect sanctuary for relaxation. I indulged in a soothing bath with milk and sea salt, while my friend Karolina opted for a leisurely stroll along the resort’s pristine beach.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, we joined the magical cacao ceremony, a soul-stirring experience that touched our hearts. Surrounded by the gentle rhythm of the waves and the warmth of the flickering candles, we embraced the sacred ritual, connecting with ourselves and the universe in a profound way.

After an exhilarating day filled with new adventures and self-discovery through the workshops, it was time to indulge in a well-deserved dinner.
Following the memorable Cacao Ceremony, we made our way back to our room, eager to refresh ourselves and wash away the lingering sand from our skin. After a quick shower, we adorned ourselves in beautiful dresses, adding a touch of light makeup to enhance our evening glow. It was time to head to the exquisite dining room of Devasom Beach Grill and Bar, where a culinary delight awaited us.
The hotel had prepared a special menu for the occasion, but it didn’t quite capture our taste buds’ attention. Thankfully, the accommodating waiter graciously allowed us to explore the à la carte menu for more enticing options. Our choice fell upon the mouthwatering grilled seabass, perfectly adorned with a savory tapenade and accompanied by a medley of fresh, vibrant vegetables. Every bite was a harmonious blend of lightness and flavors. To start our meal, we savored a small, refreshing green salad, complemented by a delightful passion-mango smoothie.
As much as I yearned for a sweet treat to conclude our dinner, the contentment in my belly told me otherwise. We decided to retire to the comfort of our luxurious Junior Suite, bidding farewell to a fulfilling day.
Back in the comfort of our suite, we decided to pamper ourselves with a little self-care session. With face masks and glasses of bubbly Prosecco in hand, we indulged in a bubbly and girly bonding time. The jacuzzi became our haven as we soaked in the warm water, gazing up at the starry night sky. It was a moment of pure bliss and laughter, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
The next morning, I woke up refreshed and ready to explore the resort. I ventured out for a leisurely walk, capturing the beauty of Devasom Khao Lak through my camera lens. The stunning landscapes, the tranquil beach, and the lush surroundings were a photographer’s dream.
Breakfast was a delightful affair, with an array of delectable options to choose from. The special menu caught my attention, and I couldn’t resist trying the tantalizing Phuket crab curry with vermicelli noodles, known as Gaeng Poo and Kanom Jeen in Thai. The flavors danced on my tongue, showcasing the richness of Southern Thai cuisine. The salads, pancakes, and acai smoothie bowl added a healthy touch, while the freshly made juices provided a refreshing start to the day.
Energized and ready for more, I joined the beach yoga session, where the sun salutations greeted the morning with grace and tranquility. The gentle sea breeze caressed my skin as I flowed through the poses, finding inner peace and harmony in the embrace of nature.
To cool down after the yoga session, I indulged in a refreshing swim in the swimming pool, overlooking the vast ocean. The invigorating water washed away any lingering fatigue, leaving me feeling revitalized and invigorated.
The time had come for a pampering session at the resort’s spa, and I opted for a rejuvenating hammam experience. The Turkish-themed ambiance added an air of luxury and relaxation. As I melted into the soothing heat, tension melted away, and a sense of pure bliss enveloped me. It was a true escape from the outside world.
With a calm mind and a serene heart, I joined a meditation session, delving into the depths of stillness and inner peace. The gentle guidance and tranquil atmosphere allowed me to reconnect with my inner self, leaving me feeling centered and grounded.
Lunchtime called, and I was excited to sample the flavors of Thailand at Takola Thai restaurant, located in the very same room where breakfast was served. The sumptuous decor created an inviting ambiance, but I was yearning for a culinary experience that matched its reputation in the Michelin guide. While the ambiance was enchanting, the food left me longing for more flavor and authenticity.
As our journey at Devasom Khao Lak drew to a close, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to partake in a sound bath healing session at the observation tower. The room was beautifully decorated for the occasion, creating a serene and sacred space. The resonating sounds washed over me, soothing my soul to the point where I couldn’t resist surrendering to a peaceful slumber right there on the floor.
To bid farewell to this enchanting retreat, we indulged in a photo shoot throughout the resort. Every corner seemed to hold a hidden spot worthy of capturing. From picturesque landscapes to stunning architecture, the resort provided an Instagram-worthy backdrop that perfectly encapsulated the beauty of our experience.
With a heartfelt thank you to the team at Devasom Khao Lak, we reflected on the unforgettable moments we had experienced. Even a small slip on the balcony after our jacuzzi session couldn’t dampen the spirit of our adventure. Yes, I ended up with bruises, but nothing was broken. After all, a little goofiness is part of who I am, and it’s the unexpected moments that make for the best stories.
