Por Tor Festival in Phuket Town from 28th August to 14th September
Phuket Town celebrates annually the ‘Por Tor Festival‘ also known as the ‘Hungry Ghost Festival’ scheduled to be held until 14th September.
During this period, many locals from Chinese heritage believe that the spirits of ancestors return to receive offerings from the living.
The festival has became known for for its famous delicacy ‘Tuo Gu’ also known as ‘Ang Ku’, a red turtle shaped cake.
