“Lanna Peranakan Spirit of Feminine: The Four Elements” is a contemporary performance blending two Southeast Asia cultures; Peranakan, the mix ancestry of Straits Chinese and Lanna, the ancient Northern Thai ethnic kingdom. The performance is inspired by the soul of a mother, who melds the four elements—water, earth, wind and fire—that conceived this world and its inhabitants. Dancer and choreographer Waewdao Sirisook weaves movements from the two cultures together accompanied by a ray of world music taking the audience on a journey of how Lanna and Peranakan spiritually connect.
